November ’21 – South Shore Porch

A client that we have a long relationship with recently inherited a house along the south shore. The wraparound front porch was literally falling down, and there was already a sizeable hole in the roof.

We worked with the client on the design and materials selection. Normally our work is done with wood and stone, but since this house was a rental property, we suggested that the porch have aluminum reinforced vinyl rails and vinyl soffit covers instead of wood bead boards. The client loved the look of real wood decking so we suggested premium grade, vertical fir decking with stainless steel screws.

We communicated our client’s wishes to one of our trusted carpentry subcontractors and had him tear down the existing porch to construct the new one. It turned out beautifully!
